Overview
We are looking to expand our team of teaching assistants who will engage with students at The Woodlands School, a specialist provision for children and young people with Autism and/or Social Communication Difficulties. Experience is not necessary but a passion to support children with special educational needs is essential.
Position Details
Grade D, full‑time FTE £26,824 to £28,142. Actual starting salary £8,335.99 (£13.90 ph). 13.25 hours per week (Thursday and Friday) term time + inset days.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside at least two other teaching assistants.
- Engage with students and support children and young people with special educational needs.
- Communicate clearly, calmly and respectfully; be reliable and trustworthy.
- Carry out duties within school policies, including safeguarding and child protection.
- Take part in swimming activities as part of the curriculum.
Requirements
- Over 18 years of age.
- Passion to support children with special educational needs.
- Ability to work in a team and maintain calm communication.
- Suitable to work with vulnerable children and adults; exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
- Not previously applied for the same position within the last 6 months.
Location and Hours
- Based at Hertford Place campus in Bletchley.
- Hours: Thursday 8:30–4:00 pm, Friday 8:30–3:15 pm (term‑time only).
