KS1 Teaching Assistant – Immediate Start

TimePlan Education is currently recruiting a dedicated and nurturing KS1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming two-form entry primary school in Oldham. This role is available for an immediate start and offers a fantastic opportunity to support pupils within a Key Stage 1 classroom, working closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging and supportive learning experiences.
The school is known for its supportive leadership team, positive learning environment and commitment to helping every child succeed. This is an excellent opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who enjoys supporting younger learners and helping them build strong foundations in their education.
The Role
As a KS1 Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and structured lessons across the KS1 curriculum
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils who require additional help
- Assist with phonics, early reading and writing activities
- Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to monitor and support pupil progress
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience working within a Key Stage 1 classroom
- Knowledge or experience of phonics programmes such as Read Write Inc, Letters and Sounds or similar
- A patient, nurturing and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting young children’s development and learning
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to obtain one)
