Job Description:

SEN Music Teacher

London Teaching Pool are currently recruiting for a specialist complex needs Music Teacher to work with primary: secondary aged children. This SEN school is located in Barking and Dagenham, East London. The role will start in September 2026.

The teacher will teach music to children with PMLD, SLD and complex medical needs. Two support workers will be in the class with you, and the class sizes are 6–8 children. You must be able to teach music from EYFS to secondary PMLD.

All primary students at this SEN school arrive with an Education Care Plan. Because the students often have missed education due to behaviour or specific learning difficulties, they frequently arrive with comparatively low levels of prior attainment.

Excellent behaviour management skills are essential and Team Teach training would be desirable.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in a classroom environment.
  • Strong track record of raising levels of achievement and motivation.
  • QTS or QTLS.
  • Excellent behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with young people and staff.
