We are looking for a charismatic & experienced Head Bartender to be part of our team at The Hoxton, Holborn. Rondo is a relaxed neighbourhood restaurant offering seasonal modern bistro dishes and great wines for all. Open from breakfast through to dinner, Rondo is the kind of restaurant you want at the end of your street; serious about food and drink but with a fun, welcoming vibe.
Holborn was the second Hox to join the family, taking over a Grade II‑listed building that was once the factory of George Kent, a famed maker of gadgets and instruments. After Kent, BT moved in, and now this former telephone exchange is home to 220 bedrooms and the Apartment, plus our foodie hotspot Rondo, all a stone’s throw from the capital’s most famous shopping and entertainment districts.
Rondo: Our neighbourhood restaurant in middle‑town Holborn with a focus on seasonal local British dishes, unsung ingredients and great wine. Headed up by chef Tristan Downes; this is the place you wish you had at the end of your street.
Job Description
- Lead the bar team in creating a fun and relaxed atmosphere where guests come to wind down and enjoy themselves.
- Be creative and share ideas to develop our menu – play a part in innovating our bar concept and staying on (and even ahead) of trends.
- Know your product and systems inside out.
- Lead your team by example, driving service standards that strive for the best for the guest; encouraging your team to grow and develop the Hox way.
Qualifications
- Previous bartender experience, ready for a step up with great wine & cocktail knowledge.
- A natural people person – confident behind the bar and brilliant with guests.
- Looking for a place where you can be yourself; no clones in suits here.
- Passion for hospitality – all about creating memorable experiences for others, be they guests or colleagues.
- Unpretentious and results‑driven; we leave our egos at the door and help get things done.
- Up for doing things differently and trying almost everything at least once.
- Willing to be part of a team that works hard, supports each other and has fun along the way.
