Overview

Special Education Needs Teacher role at TieTalent in West Yorkshire. Multiple positions are available. The role involves 1:1 tutoring with children and young people with SEN / SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs.

We are on a mission to transform the quality of education for young people with SEN/SEND, SEMH, and other needs such as MLD and SLD. You will be supported throughout each placement by our SEN / SEND Support Specialists and work within a child-centered approach.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision.
  • Plan each tutoring/mentoring session to meet individual needs.
  • Deliver holistic and engaging sessions that advance educational and social-emotional development.
  • Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on progress.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role

  • Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND/SEMH/MLD/SLD or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision
  • Support will be delivered via flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring

SEN / SEND Tutor tasks and responsibilities

  • Plan each teaching / tutoring / mentoring session
  • Deliver holistic and engaging sessions that meet the learner’s needs
  • Complete progress reports and provide feedback on progress

SEN / SEND Tutor requirements

  • Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
  • Minimum 2 years teaching experience
  • Experience with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
  • Understanding of safeguarding processes
  • Enhanced DBS (assistance available at cost)
  • Two professional references
  • Based in the UK with the right to work in the UK (remote/online allowed)
  • Ability to promote health, safety, and wellbeing of children and follow safeguarding policies at all times

SEN / SEND Tutor employment status

  • Engagement as a Worker for short-term opportunities; contract for service; paid via PAYE
  • No guaranteed hours or expenses coverage
  • Insurance covers the work you do for us
  • Not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position
