About the Role
The Pastoral Leader role is focused on supporting the personal, emotional, behavioural, and academic development of pupils, particularly those facing barriers to education. The role involves overseeing a caseload of students, supporting attendance, behaviour, safeguarding, and reintegration into mainstream or specialist education settings.
Key Responsibilities
- providing pastoral and behavioural support to vulnerable pupils,
- implementing trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches,
- managing safeguarding concerns alongside the DSL team,
- leading multi-agency meetings and working closely with families and external agencies,
- monitoring attendance, behaviour, and wellbeing data,
- and developing individual support, reintegration, and harm-reduction plans.
Qualifications
- excellent safeguarding knowledge,
- strong emotional intelligence,
- experience managing challenging behaviour,
- and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families, and professionals.
