As an activity coordinator in our care home you are like the chief fun officer. You create a vibrant, joy‑filled atmosphere for residents by planning arts and crafts, baking, book clubs, pub quizzes, and more. You work closely with residents and care teams to design tailored activity plans – from gentle chair‑based exercise and garden parties to meditation and wellbeing classes – that bring laughter, camaraderie and therapeutic benefits.
You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen By
- Running morning and afternoon activity sessions.
- Producing and updating an activity planner for the home, working to a set activities budget.
- Organising birthday surprises for residents.
- Liaising with external companies and performers from the local community to organise days out and events at the home.
- Organising one‑to‑ones with residents, which might involve reminiscing tools, puzzles, reading or simply a cup of tea and a chat.
- Supporting the home with their social media channels as required.
Key Skills / Qualifications Needed For This Role
You’re a creative thinker with plenty of ideas, the ability to manage budgets and maintain paperwork, and the capacity to prioritise tasks effectively. You’re eager to make a real difference, enjoy caring for others, and bring a sense of humour and infectious enthusiasm that enriches people’s lives.
