Position: Painter and DecoratorLocation: HMP Albany, 55 Parkhurst Rd, Newport, IOW, PO30 5RSSalary: £30,656.92 per annumContract: Permanent – 39 hrs per week, Monday to Friday

Responsibilities

As a Painter & Decorator you will work alongside experienced colleagues from various trades to maintain and improve the premises of HMP Albany, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for prisoners, staff and visitors.

Key duties include:

• Prepare surfaces for painting and decorating activities
• Apply paint, coatings and finishing to interior and exterior surfaces
• Maintain paint and decorating equipment and ensure compliance with health and safety standards
• Cooperate effectively with maintenance and facilities teams
• Support the smooth operation of the prison’s facilities through timely and high-quality work

Qualifications & Experience

• A City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Painting and Decorating or equivalent, or significant relevant experience
• Experience working in a maintenance team environment
• Honest, reliable character with a sense of purpose and pace
• Good health and safety knowledge
• Excellent organisation, time-management and people skills
