Location: Manchester Airport
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off (night and day shifts), 40 hours per week
Pay Rate: £14.36 per hour
Reporting To: Operations Manager
We are looking for a member of the PRM Airside Driver Team to drive our specialist vehicles on the airfield to transfer passengers with reduced mobility (PRMs) between aircraft and terminal building. The vehicles range from minibuses to class 2 rigid heavy goods vehicles; full training will be provided and a class 2 licence is not required. The role also involves assisting PRMs onto aircraft, to their seat or into ABM vehicles or terminal buildings using safe manual handling techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete the daily Vehicle Check Sheet to maintain operational reliability and report any vehicle defaults in line with inspection procedures.
- Drive the company vehicles, ensuring they are safe and secure at all times.
- Operate the vehicles safely within close proximity to aircraft, using all safety systems.
- Maintain a clean and tidy vehicle at all times.
- Deliver or collect passengers at the aircraft door and assist with transfer into their seat or wheelchair through safe manual handling techniques.
- Perform Customer Care Agent duties within the terminal when required, which may include escorting passengers through the terminal/security and boarding flights or meeting arriving flights and assisting PRMs through to baggage reclaim.
- Keep the Allocator updated on progress of jobs at all times using PDAs and radio.
- Observe all Manchester Airport airside driving requirements.
- Promote a safe and secure environment at all times.
- Carry out any reasonable task requested.
Requirements
- Full clean UK driving licence.
- Experience in a similar role or with larger vehicles is an advantage.
