Social, Emotional and Mental Health / Complex Needs
Academics are supporting a specialist school for children with profound, severe and complex learning difficulties in Portsmouth. We are looking for bright and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants who are available to start ASAP or from September 2026.
Our school operates three sites catering to pupils aged 2 to 19 years. We are in need of support for children with co‑occurring needs, including behaviour and mental health issues, autism spectrum condition, severe physical disabilities and highly complex medical conditions.
Due to the complex needs of our students, ideally you will have recent experience or qualifications. Candidates with qualifications in Psychology, Counselling or Criminology will be considered, though other subjects may also be acceptable.
The role requires proactive, adaptable support, with the confidence and resilience to work with challenging behaviour. The SEN child population is aged 2 to 19 and requires consistent, ongoing care and child‑centred support.
