South Devon College is seeking a dedicated, proactive, and highly motivated Estates & Facilities professional to join our team and play a key role in ensuring our environments remain safe, compliant, and fit for purpose. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the smooth and efficient operation of a diverse and busy college estate, delivering a professional, responsive, and high-quality service across maintenance, security, compliance, grounds, logistics, and customer support functions. Working collaboratively within a committed Estates & Facilities team, you will take ownership of both planned and reactive tasks, support the effective management of security and building systems, and help create a welcoming and secure environment for staff, students, and visitors.

You will demonstrate strong technical ability, excellent organisational skills, and a proactive, solution-focused approach, while consistently upholding the highest standards of health and safety, professional conduct, and customer service. We are seeking a candidate who demonstrates a strong commitment to safe working practices, with the ability to follow procedures, identify hazards, and support compliance activities such as fire safety checks. You should be capable of carrying out basic maintenance tasks, using IT systems to manage work, and following security and access control processes. With good communication skills and a professional, customer‑focused approach, you will work effectively both independently and as part of a team, organising and prioritising your workload while maintaining a proactive, “can do” attitude. You will be committed to safeguarding, equality, and professional standards, physically able to undertake manual tasks, flexible in your approach to working hours and locations, and hold a full UK driving licence.
