Our Development Coaches play a critical role in the learning and training of our new starters. This role enables you to demonstrate and develop your coaching and leadership skills, helping new staff deliver excellent administrative support and customer service across diverse user groups, including service users, mediators and judiciary.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to learners, modelling the culture and ways of working for National Services.
- Coach and advise learners on improvement in specific business areas and coaching ability.
- Use learning resources and solutions to recommend development opportunities.
- Support learners in managing customer, email or webchat queries and improve service delivery.
- Assess capability, competence and potential, adapting coaching style to individual needs.
- Measure performance against HMCTS and National Services service standards and provide action plans.
- Maintain flexibility, resilience and authority when managing learners in challenging situations.
- Participate in occasional travel to other National Services sites and courts as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Business‑specific knowledge and experience in coaching and training.
- Evidence of transferable skills, knowledge and experience; volunteering is acceptable.
- Desirable: CIPD or internal qualification in coaching and training practice.
- Strong communication and people skills, with experience of coaching by telephone, email or webchat.
- Proven ability to judge capability and adapt approaches for diverse learners.
- Knowledge of HMCTS and National Services service standards.
Working Arrangements
- Full‑time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 18:00 (flexible with business needs).
- Office‑based with occasional, non‑contractual working‑from‑home days.
- Hybrid working arrangements are available and discussed with successful candidates.
- Occasional travel to other courts and National Services sites may be required.
