Join Our Central London Community Nursing Team – Band 3 Health Care Assistant

If you are passionate about making a real difference in people’s lives and are motivated, compassionate, and compatible with a health‑care environment, we are looking for a Health Care Assistant for our Brampton House District Nursing team at St John and St Elizabeth Hospital.

We’re looking for:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
  • Substantial experience in acute or community care.
  • Essential NHS experience; community experience is a plus.

Person Specification

Education / Qualification

  • Higher Professional Diploma in Health and Wellbeing (NVQ/QCF – Level 3) or a recognised equivalent course.
  • Willingness to undertake further training as appropriate.
  • GCSE grade A‑C or equivalent in English and Maths; ECDL certificate.
  • Registration with the national regulatory body when it becomes available.

Experience

  • Experience working in a health or social care setting.
  • Experience working as part of a team.
  • Experience with the use of Microsoft Office and a variety of databases.
  • Experience with the NHS patient information database (Rio, CIS).

Skills & Knowledge

  • Knowledge of the NHS.
  • Acceptable level of numeracy and literacy.
  • Awareness of risk management.
  • Knowledge of multi‑agency services available and referral processes.
  • Knowledge of the effects of the ageing process and needs of vulnerable adults in relation to their health and well‑being.
  • Knowledge of local health needs strategies.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and requires a Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Salary: £31,554 to £33,270 a year, inclusive of HCAS.
