Retail Store Assistant

Overview

Retail Store Assistant (Shop Assistant) – Permanent, part‑time 22.5 hours per week, reports to the Shop Manager at our Oakham store. Pay: £12.71 per hour plus benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer and supporter service.
  • Work as an integral part of the shop team to achieve sales and fundraising targets.
  • Assist with maintaining shop standards, including visual presentation, safeguarding compliance and health & safety.
  • Create relationships with local community members and Cancer Research UK colleagues.
  • Support fundraising events for the store to achieve fundraising targets.
  • Take keyholder responsibility when required (training provided).
  • Perform manual handling and physical activities as required during day‑to‑day duties.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of what makes great customer service.
  • Experience working in a busy customer service environment.
  • Ability to manage workload and work independently when required.
  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Flexibility, as retail teams cover needs on a rota basis.
