Retail Store Assistant
Overview
Retail Store Assistant (Shop Assistant) – Permanent, part‑time 22.5 hours per week, reports to the Shop Manager at our Oakham store. Pay: £12.71 per hour plus benefits.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer and supporter service.
- Work as an integral part of the shop team to achieve sales and fundraising targets.
- Assist with maintaining shop standards, including visual presentation, safeguarding compliance and health & safety.
- Create relationships with local community members and Cancer Research UK colleagues.
- Support fundraising events for the store to achieve fundraising targets.
- Take keyholder responsibility when required (training provided).
- Perform manual handling and physical activities as required during day‑to‑day duties.
Qualifications
- Understanding of what makes great customer service.
- Experience working in a busy customer service environment.
- Ability to manage workload and work independently when required.
- Ability to work well in a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Flexibility, as retail teams cover needs on a rota basis.
