Part‑Time Cover Supervisor – Secondary – Stoke‑on‑Trent

Are you confident leading a classroom and supporting students in their learning?

Academics is working in partnership with a network of Secondary Schools across Stoke‑on‑Trent who are seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to step into the classroom and deliver pre‑prepared lessons in the absence of the class teacher.

Role Responsibilities:

• Supervise pupils across KS3–KS4 and deliver pre‑set work.
• Ensure a calm, productive classroom environment.
• Follow behaviour and safeguarding policies consistently.
• Provide support and encouragement to pupils during lessons.
• Liaise with teaching staff where required and complete basic feedback.

Requirements:

• Experience working with young people (e.g., schools, coaching, tutoring or youth work considered).
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
• Ability to build rapport with students and establish boundaries.
• A positive, professional, and flexible attitude.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply.
