Pay Scale: Teacher Pay Scale – MPS / UPS plus SEN 1 allowance (£2,786 per annum) or unqualified
Contract: 32.5 hours per week, Teacher contract
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and inspiring Food Teacher to join Esteem South Academy. The role involves teaching secondary‑age pupils in small classes (up to 10 students), driving the new GCSE Food curriculum from September 2026, purchasing and setting up resources, and delivering engaging, adaptive lessons for all pupils, including those with SEND.
Responsibilities
• Develop and deliver the new Food curriculum and teaching materials.• Manage the food classroom, including purchasing necessary resources.• Build positive relationships with pupils, fostering a supportive learning environment.• Work collaboratively within a small staff team to support school operations.• Adapt lessons to meet the needs of pupils with behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties.
Qualifications
- Experience in a kitchen and teaching others.
- Strong knowledge and experience working with disaffected or SEND pupils.
- Resilient, high‑expectation, and humourful approach to teaching.
- Capacity to work flexibly and think creatively in a small academy setting.
