Overview

Due to continued growth and expansion, Horizon Care and Education offer a peripatetic teacher role within the Alternative Learning Pathway team in the Wigan area. The role involves delivering one‑to‑one education in community settings and may include occasional support in school.

Responsibilities

  • Visit children to deliver 1‑1 education in the community.
  • Attend meetings and training at the school.
  • Provide support and cover lessons at school as required.
  • Build and maintain educational relationships with students outside a school environment.
  • Adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs of students who have struggled in a school environment.

Qualifications & Skills

  • QTS or QTLS qualifications.
  • Proven teaching and learning experience.
  • Up‑to‑date safeguarding and child protection qualifications/knowledge.
  • Energy, passion and drive for engaging lessons.
  • Initiative, vision, excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • Experience or passion for working with students with SEN/SEMH in 1‑1 or small group settings.
  • Driver’s license and ability to own/operate a car.
