Cover Supervisor – Haberdashers’ Knights Academy (Permanent)
Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Launcelot Road, Bromley BR1 5EB
Hours: 35 hours per week, 44 weeks per year (Office hours 08:00 – 16:00, Monday to Friday)
Salary: Band 4/5 (S13-S19 £26,146-£29,977) Permanent
Reports to: Assistant Principal
Responsibilities
- Ensure that students enter and leave classrooms in an orderly fashion
- Take the class register (electronically or manually)
- Supervise the work prepared by the teacher
- Ensure that students have the appropriate resources to complete tasks
- Respond to student queries and clarify tasks where appropriate
- Maintain behaviour standards by following the Academy’s behaviour procedures
- Collect completed tasks and return them to the appropriate staff member
- Leave the classroom tidy and ready for the next lesson
- Liaise with Faculty/Subject Leaders about work left for cover lessons when appropriate
- Liaise with Pastoral Heads and tutors to ensure behaviour is always of a high standard
Qualifications
Education and Training
- Hold a GCSE English & Maths grade C or above (or equivalent qualification)
- A higher qualification in education and/or management is desirable
Experience
- Experience working in a school-based environment and/or an office environment is desirable
- Demonstrated experience of leading and managing people in multidisciplinary teams
- Competent use of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Word and Excel
- Experience using ARBOUR (desirable)
Knowledge and Skills
- Keen organisational skills and ability to multitask
- Good plain English communication in a business/office setting
- High-level communication and literacy skills
- Ability to think on your feet, react quickly and effectively in sensitive situations
- Initiative to communicate confidently and effectively with students and staff
- Ability to work under pressure and handle a diverse workload
