Our client, a well-established and reputable company in Bolton, is seeking an experienced Trailer Technician to join their busy workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled motor trade professional who is passionate about trailer repairs and maintenance and thrives in a hands‑on workshop environment. The successful Trailer Technician will have the chance to work within a supportive team whilst earning a competitive salary with achievable bonuses.

Duties of the Trailer Technician

  • Service and repair customer and company trailers in accordance with scheduled plans
  • Record all work completed and parts used on job sheets provided by the Sales Team
  • Maintain accurate records of trailers within the hire fleet for servicing purposes
  • Complete repairs on trailers and assist with assembly and modification of flat pack trailers
  • Support the Towbar Technician and assist with fitting towbars
  • Keep the workshop tidy; ensure tools are properly maintained and report any faults
  • Provide technical advice and support to customers as needed
  • Drive company vehicles to attend customer trailers, maintaining a full UK driving licence
  • Assist with stock takes and perform other reasonable tasks as directed

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Trailer Technician or similar workshop role
  • Mechanical aptitude with a good understanding of trailer repairs and maintenance
  • Familiarity with hand tools and workshop equipment
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Full valid UK driving licence is essential
  • Willingness to undergo forklift truck training if not already qualified
  • Strong commitment to health and safety policies
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
