Sports Teaching Assistant – Islington
Support delivery of Physical Education and Sports for a secondary school with special needs pupils, including those with ADHD, behaviour and mental health challenges.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support on PE lessons.
- Teach a wide range of learning needs throughout the school taking classes of secondary aged pupils.
- Adapt lessons, be flexible and creative in lesson plans for Physical education.
- encoruage students to explore their sporting skills whilst also putting enphasis on soft skills in Sports such as Team Work and Discipline, which could help these studenrts.
- Positive and energetic leader, engaging with children and building relationships and rapport.
- Provide positive guidance and serve as a role model to support more positive outcomes in their studies.
Qualifications
- Graduate in Sport Science, or possess significant experience as a Sports Coach.
- Ability to support learning in Sports and PE for Special Needs students.
School Information
This school is located in Islington with excellent transport links. It provides education to pupils aged 4‑16 with complex special needs, including Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties. Facilities include sensory rooms and a hydrotherapy swimming pool.
