Location: Wigan

Duration: Long-term (until July 2026), with potential for September extension
Salary: 94 – 100 per day (depending on experience)

The Role
Working within a collaborative Reception team, you will play a vital role in supporting the transition and development of the school’s youngest learners. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Class Teacher in delivering the EYFS curriculum.
- Leading small group activities focusing on Phonics (Read Write Inc. or similar), early literacy, and numeracy.
- Observations and contributing to student profiles/assessments.
- Providing a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment through indoor and outdoor play.
- Supporting pupils with diverse needs, ensuring every child thrives.

This Wigan-based primary school is known for its welcoming “family” feel and its commitment to staff wellbeing. As a 2-form entry school, you will benefit from working alongside another Reception TA and teacher, allowing for shared planning and support.
Requirements
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
- Proven experience working within an EYFS or Nursery setting.
- A deep understanding of the EYFS framework.
- A patient, creative, and energetic approach to learning.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for a new one).
- Legal right to work in the UK.
