Food Safety Officer

A Local Authority client in the Midlands is seeking an experienced Environmental Health Officer to assist with an increased workload within their food safety function.

This is a 12-month contract operating on a pay-per-inspection basis, offering flexibility for suitably qualified officers. The role is outside IR35.

The Role:

• Delivery of food hygiene inspections in line with the Food Law Code of Practice
• Managing and prioritising a caseload of premises across a varied risk profile
• Completing inspection reports and associated documentation to a high standard
• Liaising with food business operators and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation

Requirements:

• Fully qualified Environmental Health Officer (or equivalent)
• Competent and authorised to carry out food hygiene inspections
• Recent Local Authority experience within food safety
• Strong knowledge of current food hygiene legislation and guidance
• Ability to work autonomously and manage your own workload effectively

Details:

• Contract Length: 12 months
• Location: Midlands (on-site inspections required)
• Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week)
• IR35 Status: Outside IR35
