Disability Assessor (PIP / WCA)

Urgent Hiring! Disability Assessor – Reading. This role offers a hybrid working environment (home and office based), with a full‑time or part‑time schedule. We seek candidates with clinical experience who want a structured 9 am–5 pm role, no nights, weekends, or bank holidays.

Core Responsibilities

  • Conduct structured assessments (telephone and face‑to‑face) for PIP and WCA cases.
  • Review medical evidence and assess daily living impact.
  • Produce detailed reports for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
  • Make objective recommendations based on the evidence presented.
  • Work in a focused assessment‑only role—no prescribing, treatment planning, or shift pressures.

Qualifications

  • Registered Adult Nurse (NMC)
  • Occupational Therapist (HCPC)
  • Physiotherapist (HCPC)
  • Paramedic (HCPC, PIP only)
  • Pharmacist (GPhC, PIP only)
  • Minimum 1 year post‑registration experience in an adult setting.
  • At least 1 year of active registration.
  • Strong communication and report‑writing skills.
  • Confident IT and typing skills.
  • Currently not available for sponsorship.

Compensation & Benefits

  • PIP Assessor (3 assessments per day): £45,300 + bonus. Salary increase of £1,000 after 6 and 12 months.
  • WCA Assessor (5–6 shorter assessments per day): £48,000 + bonus. Salary increase of £1,000 after 6 months.

Hours & Working Pattern

  • Full‑time (WCA/PIP): Monday to Friday, 9 am – 5 pm.
  • Part‑time (WCA only) – 0.6 FTE (3 days) or 0.8 FTE (4 days). PT must work Friday; remaining days are flexible.

Training

  • 12‑week paid training covering assessment techniques, DWP guidelines, and report writing.
  • Full support provided before working independently.
