Responsibilities
As a Level 2 teaching assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support pupils in the classroom and help ensure lessons run smoothly.
- Supporting pupils within whole‑class lessons, small groups, and one‑to‑one
- Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
- Supporting pupils who may need additional academic or behavioural support
- Delivering small group interventions under teacher guidance
- Encouraging pupil engagement, confidence, and participation in learning
- Supporting the creation of a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Assisting with classroom routines and behaviour management
Requirements
- Hold a recognised Level 2 teaching assistant qualification or equivalent (e.g., Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools, NVQ Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning).
- Experience working with primary‑aged children in a school setting
- A positive and proactive approach to supporting learning
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Confidence working with pupils of varying abilities
