Class 1 HGV Driver
Location: Gloucester, GloucestershireHours: Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm (some weekend work required – time off in lieu provided)Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum
Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Class 1 HGV Driver to support the safe and reliable transportation of equipment and stock to venues and sites across the UK and Europe.
Key Responsibilities of a Class 1 HGV Driver
- Drive Class 1 vehicles to deliver and collect equipment and stock.
- Follow planned routes and delivery schedules.
- Load and unload vehicles safely in line with procedures.
- Complete pre-use vehicle checks and record inspections accurately.
- Ensure compliance with road traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Maintain delivery and collection records using digital systems.
- Assist with equipment set-up and breakdown when required.
- Provide a professional and customer-focused delivery service.
- Drive alternative company vehicles when operationally required.
- Work flexible hours, including early starts, weekends, and nights away.
Key Skills of a Class 1 HGV Driver
- Valid Class 1 (C+E) driving licence with a clean record.
- Minimum of 2 years’ Class 1 driving experience.
- Valid Driver CPC.
- Strong understanding of road safety and transport regulations.
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling.
- High attention to detail with accurate paperwork completion.
- Confident using mobile or app-based systems.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, professional, and safety-focused approach.
