Activity Coordinator

As an Activities Coordinator at the Meadows, you’ll help create a stimulating environment that enables us to deliver exceptional all-round care and support for people who use our services.
Your role enables high-quality, caring service that positively contributes to the care pathway of people admitted onto the wards in the acute phase of their illness. This role complements the nursing team in planning, designing, organising, and running leisure and meaningful engagement activities, considering the needs and interests of individual members and supporting, challenging and enhancing their psychological, spiritual, social, and emotional wellbeing.
Job Responsibilities
- Organise, lead, and promote interest in recreational activities in an inclusive, stimulating, and safe environment.
- Ascertain and interpret group interests, evaluate equipment and facilities, and adapt activities to meet individual participant needs.
- Explain principles, techniques, and safety procedures to participants in recreational activities, and demonstrate use of materials and equipment.
- Develop positive relationships with participants.
- Adopt a pragmatic and non-judgmental approach.
- Provide structured opportunities for people to relax and socialise.
Qualifications
- NVQ level 3 in a health related subject
- NVQ level 2 in a health related subject and extensive patient facing experience
- Significant experience within a health care role
- Care Certificate
Experience
- Significant experience in a patient facing role within health care role
- Experience of working within older adult mental health or care home setting
- Experience in facilitating groups and individual activities

Salary: £27,106 to £28,850 a year, inclusive of 5% fringe benefit, pro rata.
