Position Overview
Work in a primary school in Oldham as a dedicated Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant, providing 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with behavioural needs. This full‑time position offers competitive salary and long‑term stability.
Responsibilities
- Provide focused 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with behavioural needs.
- Use effective de‑escalation and behaviour management strategies to support positive outcomes.
- Work closely with the class teacher and external professionals to follow an individual support plan.
- Encourage the pupil’s engagement in learning and classroom activities.
- Maintain a calm, positive and consistent approach throughout the school day.
- Record behaviour incidents, progress and interventions when required.
- Build a trusting and supportive relationship with the pupil to encourage confidence and development.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND and/or challenging behaviour.
- Team‑Teach training or willingness to complete relevant training.
- A calm, patient and resilient approach to behaviour support.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to adapt quickly to changing situations within the classroom.
- A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
