Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week

This role exists to provide efficient, high‑quality administrative and practice support to solicitors and legal assistants across several specialist legal areas. It is essential in ensuring case files, court bundles, correspondence and deadlines are managed accurately and compliantly. By acting as a central support function, the role helps fee earners focus on legal work while maintaining smooth day‑to‑day operations within the Practice Support Team.

What you’ll be doing

  • Assist qualified lawyers and legal staff with casework, including preparing court bundles, redacting documents, and drafting correspondence.
  • Open/close case files, conduct compliance checks, manage incoming/outgoing post, and use the Peppermint case management system for document handling.
  • Communicate with courts and counsel to arrange hearing dates, obtain availability and fees, and manage secure email correspondence via E‑Gress.
  • Schedule appointments, maintain electronic diaries, and handle calls and queries from solicitors, social workers, and court staff.
  • Perform photocopying, scanning, printing, invoice processing, and support broader administrative tasks across the legal team.

What we’re looking for

  • A minimum of GCSE level (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics at grade C/4 or above.
  • Proficient IT skills, particularly the use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A positive and enthusiastic attitude with the willingness to learn and develop.
  • The ability to work well under pressure, using initiative and adopting a proactive approach.
