About the role

We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Road Sales team as a 24‑month apprentice in Manchester. The apprenticeship will give you comprehensive training and support to excel in a fast‑paced sales environment, with the opportunity to secure a full‑time sales position at the end of the programme.

As an apprentice you will work within a successful Sales team, learning everything you need to know to be a top sales performer while being supported by your peers, managers, and the apprenticeship team at Kuehne+Nagel.

In the first part of the apprenticeship you will focus on delivering excellent customer service. In the second part you will build specialist sales skills and manage your own Customer Service or Sales Account.

Learning objectives

  • Efficiently process bookings from clients and overseas agents into our system
  • Provide operational support for the Sales Managers when required
  • Liaise with all relevant parties throughout shipments to organise movement of goods by providing exceptional customer service ensuring satisfaction and retention
  • Deal with any issues that may arise during a shipment and ensure the client and/or Sales Manager is updated
  • Process sales and purchase invoices for the branch
  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in meetings and training sessions
  • Make sales calls, engage and onboard new customers
  • Attend customer off‑site meetings
  • Analyse sales performance statistics and prepare/deliver customer review meetings

Qualifications

The minimum entry requirement for this apprenticeship is five GCSEs at grades 3–9 / A*–D, including Maths and English.

Previous use of Microsoft Outlook and Excel is beneficial.

Please note the vacancy does not meet the minimum requirements for visa sponsorship and for apprenticeship funding; candidates must have been resident in the EEA for at least the last three years.
