Minimum Rate of Pay: £100/day (PAYE)
Prospero Teaching is recruiting Graduate SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with Special Educational Needs across the curriculum at a mainstream secondary school.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing 1:1 support or small group interventions for students with SEN
- Assisting in delivering tailored learning activities to meet individual needs
- Supporting students with literacy, numeracy, and communication skills
- Helping manage behaviour and engagement in a positive, proactive way
- Building strong, supportive relationships with pupils to boost confidence and independence
- Supporting the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management
About You
- A degree in any subject (Psychology, Education or related fields beneficial)
- Strong interest in working with children with SEN / SEND
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- Experience with children (voluntary, coaching, tutoring, care work) is advantageous
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
To Be Eligible for This Role
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child-related references
The successful candidate will be required to register and pass all safeguarding/vetting checks with Prospero Teaching in order to fill this vacancy. Adults working with children and vulnerable young people are responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of the children and young people.
