About the Role

We’re looking for a compassionate and caring Health Care Assistant to be a key part of the patient care journey at Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). The role is a full-time position (37.5 hours) covering weekends and late shifts, operating 7 days a week from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm – including bank holidays, Christmas and New Year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate sensitively and compassionately with patients, relatives and multidisciplinary team.
  • Travel to patients’ homes across South Manchester to provide personal care support.
  • Assist with delegated duties and record patient observations and changes to clinical conditions.
  • Support patients with personal care needs while adhering to Trust guidelines and protocols.
  • Maintain readiness for varying shift patterns and be available on bank holidays.

Requirements

  • B3 Senior Health Care Assistant – NVQ Level 3 qualification.
  • Car owner/user essential; must have a full licence and reliable vehicle for all shifts.
  • Previous community experience preferred; training will be available.
  • Ability to travel independently to patients’ homes across South Manchester.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
