Your Role as a Materials Testing Technician

• You’ll be field-based, predominantly covering a region but with further UK travel as needed.
• You will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and repair of testing equipment and instrumentation.
• Examples include impact, tensile, universal, fatigue, stress, or torsion testing.
• You will be working within a variety of appealing manufacturing sectors including aerospace, automotive, and medical industries.
• You will play an important role in ensuring the equipment is correctly calibrated and maintained to UKAS standards.
• Compile detailed reports as appropriate.
• The field-based nature of the role will require nights away from home; on average 1–2 per week.

Ideal Background for the Materials Testing Technician

• Knowledge of destructive materials testing equipment is essential, specifically impact, tensile, universal, fatigue, stress, or torsion testing.
• Approachable, honest, and a team player.
• Strong understanding of ISO/IEC 17025 would be beneficial.
• A genuine interest in becoming a field-based service and calibration engineer on materials testing rigs.
• Strong IT and communication skills.
• Hold a full valid UK driving licence and have right to work in the UK.
