Drivers Mate / Porter – Belfast

We are expanding our home delivery operation in IKEA Belfast and are looking for Driver’s Mates to support drivers in ensuring on-time delivery of IKEA goods to local customers while providing a high level of service.

You must be 18 years of age or older due to health & safety requirements.

What We Offer

• Hourly rate: £13.45
• Full time: 39 hours per week, 4 days out of 7
• Working hours: 7 am to 9 pm

What You’ll Need To Have

• Commitment to deliver a quality experience, prepared to step up and problem‑solve when things aren’t right
• Strong focus on Health & Safety and comfortable with risk assessing your environment
• Attention to detail, especially when performing checks on your vehicle

What You’ll Be Doing Day To Day

• Support the driver in completing vehicle safety checks and take appropriate action
• Contact customers with upcoming delivery schedules
• Assist in loading goods into the vehicle in a safe and organised manner, ensuring the delivery route matches the goods for maximum efficiency
• Deliver goods to customers’ homes, take them into a nominated room, and carry out risk assessments on location to prevent injury and damage to property
• Communicate with customers both in person and over the phone to provide a positive customer‑service experience
• Handle a range of furniture items, from coffee tables to wardrobes
• Perform up to three delivery runs per day, responsible for loading/unloading the van for each; the van’s load capacity is 1.4 tonnes
