Job Description:

Job Title: Insurance Technician (Analyst Business Process Transactions) — Location: Remote Flexible Working — Type: Permanent, full time (37.5 hrs per week)

Velonetic, a joint venture between DXC Technology, the International Underwriting Association (IUA), and Lloyd’s of London, specialises in processing premium and claims transactions in the London market. We are building a new digital platform and services to streamline transaction processing and enable higher‑value activities.

Job Overview

An Insurance Technician reports to a Team Manager and performs technical checks, data entry, and processing across insurance risks for various clients. The work must meet market‑standard service levels for quality and turnaround time.

The role includes liaison with underwriters, brokers and other teams to capture required information, primarily via email and telephone. Responsibilities involve resolving technical issues, developing new process instructions, and providing training to junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review technical processing submissions for onward processing or data entry.
  • Validate data, obtain additional information, and correct inaccuracies.
  • Identify non‑compliant data and initiate corrective action.
  • Process non‑cash and cash entries as required.
  • Maintain high standards of quality in line with customer expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.

Further Key Responsibilities (Post‑Training)

  • Develop and maintain technical knowledge to complete work efficiently.
  • Train and support less experienced employees on complex matters.
  • Manage time and productivity within established guidelines and service levels.
  • Resolve problems independently using sound judgement.
  • Promote team objectives and commitment.

Qualifications

  • Strong numeracy, verbal and literacy skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational, personal and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to build productive networks and relationships.
  • Willingness to learn London Insurance Market practices.
  • Adaptability to change initiatives and professional image.
  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous insurance experience preferred but not essential; training provided.
