The successful candidate for this role will play a key part in supporting the progress and attainment of pupils working closely with teachers to help create an engaging, inclusive and nurturing learning environment. Woden Primary is a large and vibrant school that is situated in the centre of Wolverhampton. We are a two-form entry primary school from Nursery to Year 6 with a strong commitment to inclusion, high standards and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities of a Level 3 Teaching Assistant

  • Support the teacher in creating and maintaining a stimulating, safe and purposeful learning environment, ensuring resources are prepared and used effectively
  • Deliver planned learning activities to individuals, small groups or whole classes under the guidance of the teacher
  • Support the planning and delivery of engaging learning experiences in line with the EYFS curriculum
  • Observe, assess and record pupil progress, providing feedback to the teacher to inform next steps in learning
  • Provide clear feedback to pupils to support their development and understanding
  • Assist in the implementation of targeted interventions to support pupil progress, including working with pupils with SEND and additional needs
  • Promote positive behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policy, helping to create a respectful and inclusive environment
  • Support the pastoral care and wellbeing of pupils, ensuring their individual needs are met
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to support learning, development and inclusion
  • Contribute to the preparation and organisation of classroom activities, displays and learning resources
  • Maintain accurate records where required, in line with school policies
  • Support communication with parents and carers where appropriate
  • Contribute to wider school life, including school events, meetings and training
  • Adhere to all school policies, particularly those relating to safeguarding, behaviour and inclusion
