Rapier Employment are recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers (C+E) to join a leading high‑street supermarket distribution operation based in Erith and Dartford. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure ongoing, well‑paid work with a nationally recognised logistics brand, offering consistent shifts and long‑term stability.
Pay & Benefits
- Days: £17.00 per hour
- Mid Shift / Backs: £17.75 per hour
- Nights: £19.93 per hour
- Overtime: Up to £26.63 per hour
- Bank Holidays: £34.00 – £46.56 per hour
- Enhanced rates after 12 weeks – up to £53.22 per hour

The Role
Deliveringchilled and ambient goodsto a major supermarket store network
Operating from modern, well‑maintained vehicles
Minimal manual handling – primarily trunking and store deliveries
Working within a 24/7 operation with flexible shift options
Shift Patterns & Hours
- Preferred pattern: Friday to Monday (4 shifts)
- Optional 5th shift available
- Flexible shifts across a 7‑day operation
- Start Times:
- AM: 03:00 – 08:00
- PM: 17:00 – 02:00
- Shift Length: Typically 9-15 hours
Pay Structure Example
Pay is calculated based on hours worked within each rate band.
Example shift: 10:00 – 23:00 (13 hours)
- 4 hours at Day rate
- 8 hours at Back rate
- 1 hour at Night rate
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
- Valid CPC (DQC) and Digital Tachograph Card
- Minimum 6 months Class 1 driving experience
- No more than 6 penalty points (no DR, DD, CD or IN endorsements)
- Right to work in the UK
- Professional, reliable, and positive attitude
Assessment Required
- Theory test
- Yard manoeuvre
- On‑road driving assessment
