Plumbing Trainer (Full Training Provided)
Salary: £30,000 – £36,000 per annum. Includes full teacher training, £4,500 Golden Hello, additional bursaries, 40 days annual leave, teachers’ pension, staff development and health & wellbeing schemes.
Site based, commutable from Burton upon Trent, Derby, Lichfield, Coalville, Swadlincote and surrounding areas.
Are you an experienced plumber or heating engineer looking to step off the tools and make a real difference? This role offers full training and support, where you’ll use your hands‑on industry experience to inspire and guide the next generation of plumbers.
As a tutor in a forward‑thinking, highly regarded college, you’ll plan and deliver practical and theoretical lessons to full‑time students and apprentices, mentor them, assess progress, and help them develop the skills and confidence to become fully qualified plumbers.
Qualifications and experience:
- NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing and Heating (or equivalent)
- Solid industry experience within the plumbing trade
- No previous teaching experience required – full support and training will be provided
- Motivated to move into teaching and inspire the next generation of plumbers
- Based within a commutable distance of Swadlincote
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver classroom and workshop‑based lessons in plumbing and domestic plumbing systems
- Mentor and support students to develop practical skills, knowledge, and confidence
- Mark assessments and track progress using digital systems
- Contribute to curriculum planning, pastoral support, and learner reviews
