Position Overview

Teacher of Sociology

Hours: 26.5 Hrs/week over 39 weeks/year

Basis: Part Time, Maternity Cover

Salary: MPS/UPS – £32916 – 51048 per annum

Location: Saint Benedict Catholic Voluntary Academy, Darley Abbey area, Derby.

  • To implement and deliver a knowledge rich curriculum to all students in Sociology.
  • To contribute to raising standards and providing opportunities for all students.
  • To provide a safe working environment for students that promotes learning.
  • To monitor, assess and plan for the progress of all students.
  • To support the Director of Learning in the positive promotion of the Catholic ethos of Saint Benedict Catholic Voluntary Academy.

Qualifications & Expectations

The successful candidate will be able to build effective working relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues and will adapt their teaching to meet the needs of all pupils.

The post is subject to satisfactory references, an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, medical check, evidence of qualifications and verification of the right to work in the UK.
