Fleet Apprentice Technician

Are you a hands‑on, enthusiastic individual with a passion for vehicles and a willingness to learn? We are seeking an Apprentice Vehicle Technician to join our Fleet Department at Nottinghamshire Police.

Responsibilities

• Support qualified technicians with vehicle servicing and maintenance tasks
• Assist with inspections, fault‑finding and testing of vehicle systems
• Learn to use tools and equipment safely and correctly under supervision
• Support the handling and management of vehicle parts and materials
• Help maintain a clean, safe and environmentally compliant workshop
• Record learning activities and contribute fully to your apprenticeship programme
• Work towards developing skills and knowledge to industry and manufacturer standards

Qualifications

• A genuine interest in vehicle maintenance and engineering
• Strong enthusiasm to learn and develop through an apprenticeship programme
• Good attention to detail and a commitment to working safely
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Basic IT, literacy and numeracy skills
• GCSEs (or predicted) including Maths and English (or equivalent)
• A positive attitude and commitment to personal development
