HLTA / Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time

Location: South Birmingham

Pay: £90 – £120 per day (dependent on experience)

Start Date: Summer Term with long-term opportunities available from September

Contract: Monday to Friday, Full-time

Sector: Primary and Secondary SEN

Smile Education is recruiting experienced HLTAs and Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistants to support specialist schools and alternative provisions across South Birmingham.

This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced support staff who are passionate about helping children with additional needs achieve their full potential within nurturing SEN environments.

The Role

  • Provide classroom, small-group and 1:1 support for pupils with SEN.
  • Support students with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication needs.
  • Deliver intervention sessions and tailored learning activities.
  • Support teachers with lesson preparation and classroom delivery.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and emotional wellbeing.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Support pupils’ independence, confidence and social development.

Requirements

  • HLTA qualification or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Previous SEN experience essential.
  • Understanding of Autism and additional learning needs.
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
  • Patient, professional and caring nature.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
