Food Technology Teacher
Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire
Start: September 2026
Contract: Permanent (directly employed by the school)
Salary: £34,398 – £52,490 (MPS/UPS – Fringe Pay Scale)
Responsibilities
- Teach Food Technology across KS3 and KS4.
- Deliver curriculum aligned to national standards.
- Support and mentor student learning and progression.
- Participate in department meetings and CPD activities.
Qualifications
- UK QTS or in the process of obtaining it.
- 1:1 mentor support for ECTs and bespoke induction for new teachers.
- Strong academic background (degree, A Levels, GCSEs).
- Meeting the 8 Teaching Standards to a ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ level.
- Willingness to listen to feedback.
- Enhanced DBS check required.
