KS1 SEND Teacher – Permanent, full time from September 2026


This KS1 SEND Teacher role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive and structured setting, delivering high-quality teaching to pupils with additional needs in Key Stage 1. The role is well-suited to a KS1 SEND Teacher or an experienced mainstream KS1 teacher with a strong background in supporting pupils with SEND or SEMH. Teaching focuses on creating a calm, predictable environment where pupils can build confidence, engagement, and early learning foundations.


Duties as KS1 SEND Teacher:



  • Plan and deliver engaging KS1 lessons adapted to meet a range of additional learning needs

  • Support pupils with SEND and SEMH through structured, nurturing teaching approaches

  • Differentiate lessons to support early literacy, numeracy, and personal development

  • Create a calm, consistent, and supportive classroom environment

  • Use positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies effectively

  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching to individual needs

  • Work closely with support staff and wider teams to deliver inclusive practice

  • Build strong relationships with pupils to support confidence and engagement

  • Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times


Ideal KS1 SEND Teacher:



  • Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent recognised teaching qualification

  • Experience teaching in Key Stage 1

  • Strong background in supporting pupils with SEND or SEMH needs

  • Mainstream KS1 teachers with strong SEND experience are encouraged to apply

  • Calm, patient, and resilient teaching approach

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding


Salary: Dependent on experience, paid weekly through PAYE.
