Work-based learning Practitioner – Hospitality and Catering

Responsibilities
The Practitioner will assess students against the full range of qualifications in Hospitality & Catering and have experience in dealing with customers and professional cookery. The post holder will work with a caseload of learners and conduct a training needs analysis. They will enrol learners on appropriate courses and provide coaching, mentoring and learning opportunities. The Practitioner will also deliver underpinning knowledge sessions to learners either 1‑1 or in workshops (recommended maximum group size 8). The post holder will monitor learners’ progress towards qualifications, give constructive feedback, and guide them in preparing an e‑portfolio of evidence. They will assess learner portfolios and present completed portfolios for internal quality assurance.
Essential Requirements
- Be qualified at a minimum Level 3 or above in Hospitality & Catering.
- Possess or be willing to work towards an assessor qualification (TAQA).
- Possess or be willing to work towards a Quality Assurance qualification (currently 401 TAQA Unit).
- Level 2 English/Welsh and Maths qualifications (or equivalent) at Grade 4 (C) or above.
- Possess or be willing to work towards a Digital Literacy Level 2 qualification.
- Experience in liaising and partnering with external managers in the industry.
- Able to plan and manage own workload, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Able to demonstrate personal resilience to cope with a range of difficult situations.
- Able to demonstrate a commitment to the maintenance and development of quality standards within education.
Desirable Skills
Welsh language skills are desirable for this specific post. We are seeking candidates who can help us grow our bilingual provision and service.
