Job Overview

We are recruiting a Year6 Teacher for a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Oldham, full‑time from September. The role involves leading a Year6 class, preparing pupils for SATs, and delivering a balanced, engaging curriculum that supports academic progress and pupil wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Lead a Year6 class through the full academic year.
• Prepare pupils for SATs while maintaining a balanced curriculum.
• Deliver engaging lessons across core subjects, especially English and Maths.
• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a focused, productive environment.
• Differentiated learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL.
• Collaborate with the teaching team and school leadership.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Proven experience teaching KS2, ideally Year6 or upper Key Stage 2.
• Strong understanding of SATs preparation and Year6 curriculum.
• Experience with schemes such as WhiteRoseMaths (desirable).
• Positive and inclusive teaching style; ability to build relationships.
• Effective behaviour management skills.
• Strong organisational skills for workload during assessment year.
• QTS (or equivalent qualification).

Essential Requirements

• QTS (or equivalent).
• Recent KS2 teaching experience backed by strong references.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Right to work in the UK.
