Job Overview
We are recruiting a Year6 Teacher for a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Oldham, full‑time from September. The role involves leading a Year6 class, preparing pupils for SATs, and delivering a balanced, engaging curriculum that supports academic progress and pupil wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Lead a Year6 class through the full academic year.
- Prepare pupils for SATs while maintaining a balanced curriculum.
- Deliver engaging lessons across core subjects, especially English and Maths.
- Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a focused, productive environment.
- Differentiated learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL.
- Collaborate with the teaching team and school leadership.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Proven experience teaching KS2, ideally Year6 or upper Key Stage 2.
- Strong understanding of SATs preparation and Year6 curriculum.
- Experience with schemes such as WhiteRoseMaths (desirable).
- Positive and inclusive teaching style; ability to build relationships.
- Effective behaviour management skills.
- Strong organisational skills for workload during assessment year.
- QTS (or equivalent qualification).
Essential Requirements
- QTS (or equivalent).
- Recent KS2 teaching experience backed by strong references.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
