WS Transportation was established in April 2014 by William Stobart and his son Edward Stobart. Nigel McMullan and Edward Stobart oversee the company’s operations. Initially focused on logistics for the construction industry and high & heavy haulage, WS Transportation has since expanded its offerings to include a comprehensive range of end‑to‑end solutions. It has recently completed its acquisition of EvCargo Distribution and Solutions, growing its General Haulage division.
Role Overview
Class 1 Drivers are needed to join our team on days or nights at our depot in Ashby de La Zouch. The shift pattern is 4 on 4 off days or nights. As a fully qualified HGV driver, you will be responsible for delivering products to our customers while ensuring safety on the road.
Salary and Benefits
4 on 4 off days: £676.71 per week (approximately £35,188.92 per annum) Basic. 4 on 4 off nights: £746.75 per week (approximately £38,831 per annum) Basic. Key Responsibilities
- Health and safety of themselves and other road users
- Ensuring all units and trailers are checked before and after shift
- Load security, including strapping using internal and ratchet strapping
- Delivering to all parts of the UK
- Complete paperwork correctly and efficiently
- Representing EV Cargo
Ideal Candidate
Experience in a Class 1 role is desirable but not essential; mentoring can be provided. A C+E licence is required.
