BSL Teaching Assistant
Peterborough (Cambridgeshire) Long-term fixed term contract, 95-120 per day (Weekly PAYE)
A friendly and inclusive primary school in Peterborough, rated good Ofsted is looking to appoint a BSL teaching assistant to support pupils across the school.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference, working with children from EYFS through to Key stage 2. The role will involve 1:1 support as well as working with small groups, helping pupils’ achieve the curriculum and build confidence in their learning. To start after Easter half term April 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils using British Sign Language
- Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons
- Provide targeted 1:1 and small groups support
- Encourage pupils’ participation and independence
What we are looking for
- BSL skills (Qualifications or experience preferred)
- A caring, patient and proactive approach
- A genuine passion for supporting children
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
