Overview
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, Day Shift (e.g. 07:30–16:00 with early finish Friday). A well-established precision engineering company based in Aldershot is seeking a skilled Manual Machinist / Toolroom Engineer with strong grinding experience. This is a superb opportunity to join a long-standing, stable business producing complex, low-volume components for high-spec industries including aerospace, defence and motorsport. We’re helping them identify a capable, hands-on machinist with a strong grounding in surface, cylindrical or bore grinding.

Manual Machinist Responsibilities
Operate manual grinding machinery including:
Surface grinders
Cylindrical grinders
Bore/internal grinders
Produce one-off and small batch precision components to tight tolerances
Work from engineering drawings and job cards
Use measuring tools (micrometers, gauges etc.) to inspect and ensure accuracy
Operate additional manual machines such as lathes and mills as required
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to meet customer specs and deadlines
Manual Machinist Requirements
Proven experience in manual machining and precision grinding
Strong skills in surface, cylindrical and internal grinding
Comfortable working to fine tolerances from technical drawings
Self-sufficient, accurate and methodical approach to work
Apprentice-trained or qualified by experience in an engineering environment
