Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated, dynamic and adaptable Food Technology Teacher to join our specialist education team, delivering high-quality teaching and learning to children and young people with a range of SEND needs, including experiences of trauma and adversity.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate teacher who is committed to inclusive education and making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.

Start Date

  • Official start date: 1st September 2026
  • The successful candidate will be expected to commence from 1st July 2026 to complete a handover with the current postholder.

About the Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver high-quality, personalised Food Technology teaching to support pupils in achieving progress from their individual starting points
  • Plan, assess and report on pupil progress within a collaborative and supportive team
  • Create engaging, inclusive learning experiences tailored to pupils with SEND
  • Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and personal development through trauma-informed practice
  • Take an active role in safeguarding and pastoral support
  • Act as a Form Tutor, building positive relationships with pupils and families

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • Experience or strong interest in SEND and trauma-informed practice
  • Passion for inclusive education and raising achievement for all learners
  • Strong classroom practice and commitment to continuous professional development
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • High expectations and a commitment to helping every pupil succeed

This role is subject to satisfactory safeguarding and pre-employment checks in line with safer recruitment practices.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
