Senior Practitioner – Children’s Services at Birmingham Children’s Trust
About the Role
As a Senior Practitioner within the Front Door (Duty) team, you will play a key role in managing incoming referrals, undertaking safeguarding enquiries, and ensuring timely and effective interventions for children and families.
- Work within the S47 team, completing Section 47 enquiries and progressing cases to Initial Child Protection Conferences (ICPC) where appropriate
- Manage a varied caseload within a short-term intervention team
- Participate in a duty rota (1 week in every 3)
- Undertake both office-based and community-based work, including home visits
- Utilise the Eclipse system to record and manage casework
Working Arrangements
- 37 hours per week
- 2 days office-based during duty week
- Flexible working outside of duty week
- Free parking available
- Travel required across the North West Central Birmingham area (Clean Air Zone applicable)
Essential Requirements
- Social Work Qualification – Degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years’ experience as a social worker within children’s services
- Social Work England Registration
- Driving licence and access to own vehicle
