Overview
Punjabi-speaking Befriender Volunteer role at TieTalent in Bromley. Flexible days and times; a couple of hours to spare on a regular basis. You will provide companionship to a resident by meeting regularly for a cup of tea and a chat, and you should be able to communicate confidently in Punjabi.
Responsibilities
- Meet with the resident on a regular basis to provide companionship and conversation
- Follow safeguarding procedures and report any concerns
- Develop a friendship and enjoy conversations while respecting boundaries
- Complete any training provided
- Attend regular volunteer supervisions with your volunteer supervisor
- Attend to the resident’s interests, such as knitting and arts activities, where appropriate
Requirements
- Punjabi language proficiency and ability to engage in conversations in Punjabi
- A warm, chatty person who is also a good listener
- Commitment to regular volunteering
